Twilight is a ongoing series of works that showcase the dimension and depth that exhibits the emotion of the evening. The primary purpose of the series is to control the light in its intensity on the given scene. Most in this series are photographed in complete darkness with natural light coming from either the moon or stars as Ryan Musch will artificially add light during the photographic exposure. This control allows Musch to illuminate what parts of the scene will be emphasised in each work. The series began in December 2008 and locations thus far include Jasper County, Indiana where many of the natural settings can be achieved; Dublin, Ireland and the Netherlands.
From Ryan: “I want to thank the following friends for their contributions to the series. My students who have assisted include Sammy Mitchell, Kathleen Grady, Stephanie Madson, Deana George, and Kaylee. Deana Rule for her “scouting”; and Michel Keck. Special Thanks goes to God for making sure I have not yet been shot or beaten while running around at two in the morning in stranger’s properties or forests….Although having a fully charged flashlight go out in the middle of a dark forest was a funny joke….”
